Assigning Favorites to an ƒ-key

To assign this, or any other page to an F-key on your WebTV keyboard, follow these simple instructions.

  • Save the page to your "favorites" by using the "Save" button on the keyboard, or by clicking the "Options" button on your keyboard or remote control.

  • Next, go to the Favorites file that contains the site that you wish to assign to your F-key.

  • On the side bar, choose "Organize," then "Shortcuts."

  • You will now be on a screen that will have a list of all the sites in that file. Click the button next to the site you wish to assign to an F-key.

  • Now you will be on a screen that has 7 radio buttons. Click on the button that corresponds to the key that you want that site assigned to. Scroll down and click "Done."

  • You will be returned to the page with the list of sites in that file. If you wish to assign another site to an F-key, simply repeat the previous steps.

  • When you have finished, click on the "Done" button on the bottom of the page. This will save any changes you have made, and will also return you to the favorites file that you started on.

  • If you have room among the allowance of 20 folders, you might want to set up one with a title of just F-Keys for storing sites you may want quicker access to. Then, when you save useful sites, you'll save them into only that one folder. If you do this, you'll have an easier time remembering what is where, as well as making F-key changes when you care to in the future.
